Overland Park named best US city to raise a family

If you dream of moving the United States to improve your family’s lifestyle, then Overland Park in Kansas may be a location worth checking out.

The second most populous city in the state of Kansas, Overland Park was recently revealed by a new report to be the best place to raise a family in the United States.

The study, carried out by WalletHub, compared more than 180 US cities on 47 key metrics which included essential family dynamics, such as the cost of housing, the quality of local school and health-care systems, and the opportunities for fun and recreation.

Overland Park topped the rankings with an overall score of 71.76, topping the overall Affordability rankings, and also placing in the top ten for Socio-economics and Health and Safety. The city was also eleventh for Education and Childcare.

Two Californian cities, Fremont and Irvine, finished second and third, with scores of 70.59 and 70.39 respectively.

Fremont finished top of both the Health and Safety and Socio-Economics ranking, but poor scores in the Family Fun and Affordability sections meant the city had to settle for second place overall.
