New Zealand EOI applicants urged to check their applications

Immigration New Zealand is urging anyone with a current Expression of Interest (EOI) in the pool, or who have started an EOI but not yet submitted it, to check that all questions still display as completed.

On 6th December 2015, changes were made to some of the SMC EOI questions. These changes have been made in order to align the EOI character questions with the standardised character questions in other residence forms, as well as to improve layout and general clarity for the user. As these questions have changed, the answers to previous versions have been discarded. These questions should be completed to allow EOIs to be submitted to the pool, and to allow already submitted EOIs to be considered.

Therefore, if you started your EOI before 6th December 2015, and it is still in the pool or you have not yet submitted it your EOI will have automatically changed over to the new format. Most of the questions have not changed, and the answers you have given for these questions will be retained. However for the questions that have changed, any answers you’ve provided will have been deleted. New questions and answer fields have also been generated that will need to be completed.

All applicants should therefore go through their EOIs again, and answer any new or updated questions as needed. You will be able to see which sections are incomplete on the ‘Summary’ screen of your EOI. Please ensure all questions which apply to you have been answered (including all mandatory questions), then submit (or resubmit) the EOI when it is ready. INZ will then be able to process your EOI as normal.
