Biotech professionals offered Canadian job seeking help

A new Canadian resumé building tool was launched yesterday that will allow biotech professionals to seek industry specific jobs.

Biotech Resume
The new online tool – managed by Scotiabank and BioTalent Canada, and funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada – targets immigrant job seekers and aims to help internationally educated professionals build a professional, standardised biotech resumé, to optimise their chances of landing a job in the Canadian biotechnology industry.

Individuals in the biotech industry can start using the Scotiabank StartRight Biotech Resumé Builder even before they come to Canada. They will be able to define and highlight their job history, skills and education in a way that is the industry standard among Canadian biotech employers.

“Biotechnology is a growing sector in Canada that’s transforming many of our traditional industries, including manufacturing and forestry,” explained Winnie Leong, Vice President of Multicultural Banking at Scotiabank, at the product’s launch yesterday. “We’re proud to enable talented new Canadians to contribute to this growth while building strong careers in their new homes.”

Rob Henderson, President of BioTalent Canada, echoes Leong’s sentiments. “Through this new tool, immigrants will be better prepared to find work within Canada’s diverse and growing bio-economy.”
