Visas & Advice Detail

The stunning scenery of Alberta
Provincial Nominee Programme

The PNP may be the perfect visa option to choose and is worth considering

Key requirements
Nomination by one of the provinces or territories participating in the programme. typically, this involves either receiving a confirmed job offer in the province in question or having a skill on the strategic skills list of the province in question (not all provinces have these) and/or scoring enough points on a selection grid (typically, fewer points are needed to qualify than for the skilled worker visa). if investing, making an acceptable business proposal with sufficient capital is necessary.

Processing time
Six months to one year. A family relationship with someone in the province in question, or having been educated or worked there, often scores additional points on the selection grid as the province likes to see a demonstrable commitment to settle in it or previous ties with it.

Alternative
Temporary Work Permit
Applicant must secure a job offer and the employer must receive a labour market opinion from human resources and skills development Canada. Could be used to work and live in Canada whilst the applicant is waiting for his or her skilled worker visa application to be processed.
