Anti smoking goes graphic
The New Zealand authorities may adopt some grisly tactics in an attempt to curb Kiwi smoking
Talks are underway that could mean cigarette packets all over the country will soon carry gruesome close-up pictures of diseased lungs, gangrenous limbs and children on ventilators.
The scheme has already seen some success in countries like Australia, Canada and Brazil and anti-smoking groups support the move, saying pictures have been proven an effective deterrent to smoking opposed to the existing written warnings.
