Saskatchewan just got bigger!

Saskatchewan has seen significant growth in population. Now well past the million mark, experts are predicting it will grow by another 15,000 this year alone.

The population growth of Saskatchewan shows little sign of slowing up. The first quarter of the year showed the province adding over 3,000 people to hit an all time record high of 1,041,729. Furthermore, it is the largest increase in a quarter since the early 1970's.

At its current population run rate, Saskatchewan is likely to top 1.3 million in the next twenty years, providing plenty of opportunities for British migrants in the process. And whilst Saskatchewan has not always been top of the list for migrants from the UK, there is no doubt that this boom is generating plenty of employment opportunities and the future certainly looks very bright indeed. With the influx of new people to the province comes the need for better and sustainable infrastructure, including new transport facilities, schools, hospitals and houses.

So if you have yet to check out cities such as Saskatoon, Regina and Moose Jaw as part of your emigration planning and search, perhaps now is a good time to do so? It looks like Saskatchewan will have opportunities for migrants for the forseeable future.
