Market slump linked to US property
Troubles in global stock markets have been widely linked to a downturn in the the US property market
The US Census Bureau reported that sales of new homes across America fell 3 per cent during June, while sales of existing homes declined by 1.3 per cent from May with a nationwide decline of 9 per cent in the last year.
However as long as property prices remain low throughout the country, due to a slowdown in the property market caused by oversupply and 17 interest rate increases in a row, now could be a good time for British buyers to snap up their dream American property before prices begin to rise again.
Florida is traditionally most popular with Brits emigrating overseas and there may be even more reasons at present to make the move to the Sunshine State.
