The CADS Dual Diagnosis Team is a mobile team that provides a service regionally across Auckland via clinical case support and consultancy for clients of Mental Health Services who have predominantly DSMIV Axis I disorders and co-existing substance abuse or dependency. We also provide liaison and Dual Diagnosis skills based training to mental health staff.
As a qualified nurse, psychologist, occupational therapist or other relevant health professional, we want you to join our team in providing a specialist service for Mental Health services clients with a co-existing substance abuse or dependency living in the Counties Manukau area. You will have experience in Mental Health and also with Alcohol & Drug Services. Emergency Department Specialists/Medical Officers

This is a challenging opportunity to join our two Senior Specialists in the design and development of the department. The role offers diverse experience in a new state-of-the-art-facility and will be instrumental in leading this new era of emergency medicine delivery throughout Southland.
The department supports a rural population of 105,000 and the catchment area stretches from Stewart Island to Te Anau and Queenstown. The open plan design supports 21 beds and a raised central work station, providing visibility to most clinical areas. It includes a de-contamination area, seclusion room and negative pressure room. It also has a five bay ambulance port and is located 50 metres from a helicopter pad. As part of the unique design of the hospital, ED is co-located with the Fracture Clinic and Medical Imaging and in close proximity to Critical Care, Operating Theatres and Security.
The 25,000 ED presentations per annum will be managed by a full team of 3 ED Specialists, 5 Medical Officers and 5 House Officers. We are currently looking for an ED Specialist (FACEM) and a Medical Officer to join the team. You will be expected to work a shift pattern with an average of 48 hours per week. The Medical Officer should have at least 4 years post-graduate experience including 3 years full-time emergency experience. The successful applicants will preferably have achieved EMST/ATLS, ACLS or APLS.

Due to parental leave starting in mid July, we have a 6 month fixed term opportunity in our adult haematology services (Haematology ward, Bone Marrow Transplant Unit and Haematology Day Stay Unit). In line with ADHB clinical pharmacy services developments, your main focus will be to ensure chemotherapy prescriptions are clinically screened at the patient side, where you will be an integral part of the haematology team. This will include development of protocols and guidelines, education, training and research to facilitate good prescribing practice and chemotherapy manufacturing. You will also work closely with our oncology pharmacy manufacturing unit and other specialised pharmacists to provide professional support and guidance in all aspects of chemotherapy such as facilitating our new intrathecal chemotherapy policy.
The successful applicant will have three years clinical pharmacy experience (preferably with previous haematology experience), the ability to develop close working relationships, whilst showing drive, enthusiasm and initiative. Senior Pharmacist, Medicines Information

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic Pharmacist with experience in Medicines Information.
This position provides the opportunity for you to develop your skills and knowledge in our busy Medicines Information (MI) Department. In addition to core service provision, you will participate in the training of all grades of staff including undergraduate students, produce educational bulletins for staff and patients and assist the formulary pharmacist in the preparation of critical appraisals of new therapies. The role will also involve participation in clinical ward service provision as part of a clinical team.
The successful applicant will have relevant clinical pharmacy experience (including a minimum of three years hospital practice), the ability to lead and motivate team members, as well as showing drive, enthusiasm and initiative. You must have previous Medicines Information experience, be an effective team player and communicator with excellent interpersonal and time management skills. The post holder will be committed to raising the quality and profile of the Medicines Information Department.

The Consultant Psychiatrist is required to undertake their clinical responsibilities and to conduct themselves in all matters relating to their employment, in accordance with best practice and relevant ethical and professional standards and guidelines
Efficient and effective clinical practice will ensure that Mental Health service delivery for clients requiring assessment, medication and follow-up are monitored, maintained and evaluated within client centred model framework.
All clients will have effective case management as a component of medical practice, in conjunction with the assigned key worker.
The Mental Health Service ensures that consumers referred to other service providers have established contact and that the arrangements made for ongoing follow up are satisfactory to the consumers, their families / whanau and their carers, and other service providers prior to consumers exiting or being transferred from the Service.
Communication and co-ordination between the Mental Health Service and community agencies is adequate and timely. The priority of the consumer's needs for community management is indicated to the relevant community agencies.
