Shift Engineer

The main purpose and challenge of the role is to assume shift responsibility for the availability of plant and equipment to ensure the coordination of all site mechanical and electrical services with the objective of ensuring plant and services availability.
• Set shift priorities for break in and on demand maintenance needs.
• Responsible for call out of trades staff as required with the objective of ensuring plant and services availability.
• Ensure operation of all site services, pressure and steam plant is operated within statutory codes and RMA consents are not contravened.

• Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained within the workshop and factory areas.
• Liaise with Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator to maintain the availability of critical plant and plant spares.
• Participate in setting annual departments Repair and Maintenance budgets.
• Assist with developing technical, planning and scheduling of all maintenance tasks.
• Liaise with local authorities, regulatory bodies and consultants as and when required.
• Be involved in RCM, TPM, RCA and process reliability improvement teams.
• Assist with the development of database's project plans and spreadsheets required for maintenance analysis and winter shut planning.
• Prepare, maintain and assist with ISO 9002, ISO 14001 procedures and inspection audits.
• Monitor and report on rework.
• As required, prepare and manage to achieve budgets and business objectives.
• Ensure adherence to Quality, Safety and environmental procedures and documentation of such.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Site Maintenance Engineer Manager.
• Assist with security of the site and the issue of stores goods after hours
• You will require a relevant tertiary qualification.
• You will have a third class marine certificate or First Class Engine Drivers certificate (minimum requirement), plus a trade certificate in fitting turning and machining.
