Emigrate Glasgow Visitor FAQ

We know how daunting visiting an exhibition of this type can be. These frequently asked questions may give you the answers you need.

What time does Emigrate Glasgow at the SECC open and close to the public?
The Show opens on Saturday at 9.30am and closes at 4.30pm and on Sunday the show opens at 10am and closes at 4.30pm.

Is there car parking on site? And is this free?
Yes there is parking on site close to the hall but there is a charge to park. 

Is the exhibition indoors?
Yes the exhibition is being held indoors in a purpose built hall.

Should I bring a copy of my CV with me?
We would advise you to bring a copy of your CV and any other information that you feel relevant as this is the opportunity to get all those questions answered! There may be recruiters who are interested in your CV.

Do I need a ticket to get entry?
Yes you must have either purchased a ticket in advance or on the day at the reception desk. Adult tickets are priced at £10. Children under 16 are admitted free.

Do you accept credit cards as payment for tickets at the gate?
Yes we accept all major credit cards.

If the show is very busy, will I still get in to it?
Yes the hall is large and you will get into the show without any problem.

Are tickets refundable if we can't attend the show?
Tickets are non-refundable; we can however transfer them to another exhibition later in the year.

What if I can't attend the show on the day for which I booked my ticket?
Tickets are valid for EITHER Saturday or Sunday.

Do senior citizens and students get a discount on entrance tickets?
No. All ticket prices are kept to an absolute minimum.

Are children welcome at the exhibition?
Yes we welcome children of all ages, but please note these shows can be very busy.

Is there a crèche or any similar facilities on site for us to leave our children whilst we are at the exhibition?
No. However, we do try to include some form of fun for our young visitors.

What happens if I lose my child?
Please go to the main Emigrate stand or reception desk and we will broadcast an announcement immediately and assist in relocating your child.

Do I have to pay to attend the presentations?
No your entry ticket covers admittance to as many presentations as you wish to go to, subject only to space availability.

How long do presentations tend to last?
Presentations vary depending on the country and subject covered, but on average last about 30 minutes.

Once I have entered the exhibition am I able to leave and return later in the day?
Yes, this is not a problem, as long as you are returning on the same day and have a re-admittance slip, which you can get from the Emigrate Reception stand as you leave.

Who is exhibiting at the exhibitions?
Exhibitors include some long haul destination governments, regional and government departments, recruiters, migration specialists, removal firms, money exchange companies and relocation agents mainly from Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

Are there disabled facilities?
Yes. There is disabled access to the venue; there are also disabled toilets at the venue.

Can I bring my dog along with me?
Only Guide Dogs and Hearing Dogs are permitted within the hall. But PLEASE DO NOT leave your dog in the car.

What happens if I lose anything?
Anything found will be handed in to the Emigrate reception desks at the entrance, and kept there until collected.

Are there toilets at the venues?
Yes there are plenty at the venue.

Is there a cash point on site?
Yes there is.

Are there public telephones on site?
Yes there are public telephones.

Are there cloakrooms on site?
No.

Are there any catering facilities on site for snacks or for lunch?
Yes there is a café on site offering a good range of hot food, sandwiches or just a snack.

• Remember to ask as many questions as possible at the show. Now's the time to get all those unanswered questions answered - no matter how insignificant you feel they are! Exhibitors understand you may be apprehensive, so don't be frightened to ask them anything you need to know.
