Principle Technical Officer

Geophysicist: Oil and Gas

Our client is currently seeking the expertise of a Geophysicist for a multi faceted role. Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the purpose of the role is to provide exploration and production geophysical support and advice across all exploration assets and producing oil and gas assets. This role will take you into the field on regular occasions in areas both remote and rural within SA.
To be suitable for this position you must possess a postgraduate degree in Geophysics, along with at least 8 years broad petroleum industry experience. Ideally you will have a sound knowledge of subsurface field development and production issues and a significant depth of expertise with field scale interpretation and depth conversion of reflection and inverted seismic volumes. The role will require competency with quantitative interpretation of seismic attributes and relevant software together with knowledge of seismic processing techniques. The demonstrated ability to work in a leadership capacity and have effective liaisons with colleagues, management and co-workers is a must for this position.
