Qualifying to live in America through a family visa may be the right choice, but be warned there is a long time delay
Key requirements
US citizens can sponsor relatives to gain permanent residency in america but hey must be defined as immediate family. f-1 visas are for unmarried sons or daughters (over 21 years old) of us citizens. f-2a visas are for spouses and unmarried children (under 21 years old) of a us permanent resident. f-2b visas are for unmarried sons and daughters (over 21 years old) of a US permanent resident. f-3 visas are for married sons and daughters of us citizens. the f-4 visas are for the biological siblings of us citizens.
Processing time
Unfortunately, Family visas take the longest times for processing ranging between 1–7 years. F-1: 1–-5 years, F-2a: 1–5 years, F–2b: 1–7 years, F-3: 1–5 years, F-4: 5–7 years. The visa processing times for these visas will vary depending on which service centre in the united states deals with your application.
Alternative
Family based immigration. For persons with the necessary relationship to a US citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident, such as spouses and siblings.
