Visas & Advice Detail

Business Permit

If you have money to invest in your own South African enterprise and can show evidence that you will employ local labour, this visa category is worth a second look

Key requirements
Business permits are granted for a period of two years (and are extendable), for those seeking to invest in, establish and work in their own businesses in South Africa. Candidates must show that they will invest ZAR2.5 million into the business. There is also a permanent Business permit.

Processing time
Times vary depending on individual cases. Candidates must prove that at least five South Africans will be employed in the business. They will also need to prove that the business contributes to the geographical spread of economic activity.
