Working Holiday Visa
This visa is for people between 18 and 30 years of age, who are essentially planning an extended holiday in New Zealand
Key requirements
Basic health and character requirements; between 18 and 30 years of age; permanent UK resident; holder of a return ticket or sufficient funds to purchase one; and have funds for the duration of your stay to meet living costs.
Processing time
Usually within days, but times can vary. There is a 12 month and 23 month option for duration of stay under this visa scheme, the 23 monh visa requires medical certificates. This visa is not an alternative to the skilled migrant category, or any other permanent residence visa. To obtain one you must satisfy the NZIS you are in New Zealand primarily on holiday, not for work purposes. Taking up a ermanent position is not allowed. However, once in New Zealand you may apply for an ordinary Work Permit, and you are allowed to enroll in study courses under three months duration.
