NZ application procedures
Identifying the ideal visa for you is just the beginning – would-be migrants must then negotiate the ups and downs of the application process.
Borey Chum offers his advice on how to begin your application
For the skilled category
You must submit an Expression of Interest (EoI). Your EoI will be ranked with others for bimonthly selection. If your EoI has been accepted and you have been invited to apply for residence you will be required to lodge your residence application.
To apply for the Work to Residence Category you will be required to complete the following form: Work Visa/ Permit Application (INZ 1015).
To apply for the Skilled Migrant Category you will be required to complete the following form: Skilled Migrant Application for Residence form (NZIS 1058).
Once you have compiled all the relevant documents for your application, you will need to send it to:
Immigration New Zealand, Mezzanine Floor, NZ House, 80 Haymarket, London, SW1Y 4TE, UK
For the business categories
To apply for the General (Active) Investor Category, you must submit a General (Active) Investor Category Expression of Interest (INZ 1148). Your EoI will be ranked with others for bimonthly selection. If your EoI has been accepted and you have been invited to apply for residence, you will required to lodge your residence application.
To apply for the LTBV, complete the following form: Application for Long Term Business Visa and Permit form (NZIS 1058).
To apply for the Entrepreneur Visa, complete the following form: Application for Residence in New Zealand under the Entrepreneur and Employee of a Relocating Business Categories (NZIS 1056).
To apply for the Global Investor Category, complete the following form: Application for Residence – Professional and Global Investor Categories (INZ 1150).
To apply for the Professional Investor Category, complete the following form: Application for Residence – Professional and Global Investor Categories (INZ 1150).
Once you have compiled all the relevant documents for your application you will need to send it to:
Immigration New Zealand, Business Migration Branch, PO Box 3705, Wellington, New Zealand
For the family categories
To apply for the residence under these categories please complete the following form: Application for Residence in New Zealand form (NZIS 1000).
The eligible sponsor must also complete the following form: Sponsorship Form for Residence in New Zealand (NZIS 1024).
Both forms should then be sent to Immigration New Zealand's UK address (see skilled categories).
